Scrapping your car

End Of Life Vehicles (ELV)

If your vehicle runs, and still has some MOT left, you can drive it to our scrap yard and get cash for it. 

If your car does not run then see if you are able to tow it, otherwise ring our friendly staff to arrange collection.  This may be a free collection or you might get some cash for your car depending on your type of car and condition.

You will need your Log Book for the car and some form of ID (driving licence or passport).

Once in our office we can help you fill out part of the log book which you must post to DVLA.  This is to ensure them that you have sold the car and have the receipt to prove it.

All ELV's undergo the de-pollution process.  This is where the car is completely drained of oil and stored in compliance with government regulations.  The oil is later taken away to be disposed of. 

Batteries are removed and safely stored then later recycled.  The tyres are also removed and separated from the rim.  Some tyres which are not worn or damaged can be sold and re-used.

All ELV's are then stored in the yard and many parts are salvaged over time.  Later they are crushed and sent to be recycled.
