Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What scrap waste do you not accept?
A: Due to environmental regulations we cannot accept the following metal waste items: Gas Cylinders, Aerosol Cans, Oil Filters, (unless attached to an engine).

Q: What batteries do you accept?
A: We currently only accept lead acid batteries (car batteries).  We cannot accept Nickel NiCad, Gel, Mercury or Calcium Batteries.

Q: The part I've received in the post, is the wrong bit, do you give refunds?
A: In any case, we will try to exchange the part,  We will only issue refunds for the car part but not on the postage unless the part we sent is in our error. All car parts are class as second hand goods.  We will offer credit and exchange for other parts up to the value.

Q: How much is my car worth?
A: Scrap metal prices change in the market all the time, please call our friendly staff now for a price on your vehicle.

Q: Can I take the car part off my self?
A: Yes you can.  We can also remove the part and post it but this will incur a fee.  Our yard is open for visitors to come and remove the part they want.  You will need to bring your own tools and wear sensible shoes (not sandals) and comply with our yard regulations.

Q: Can I scrap my old telephone or other electrical appliance?
A: Yes you can.  Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment (WEEE) is any appliance that has batteries or a plug. Much work is still needed to recycle these products and as such we cannot pay a scrap value for them.  We can pay for computers containing circuit boards & wires as there are more precious metals found in these.

Q: Are you open on bank holidays?
A: Yes.  Opening times may vary but we do open bank holidays.  Please call closer to the time.
